#exCITATION215

A new year sure offers so many possibilities. It’s a reminder of unlimited power to fully unleash our limitless potentials.Though we might sometimes be caught in the delusion of starting all over again but it’s actually a continuum of dreams, plans and aspiration ~ layers upon layers. Amidst several aspirations for the year, increasing your leadership’s effectivenessis also a worthy compilation for your list.
Excitation, in Physics, is the addition of sufficient energy to an electron, atom, atomic nucleus, or molecule to raise it from its lowestenergy level ground state to a higherenergy level. Simply, a shift from a one phase to another, usually in an ascending manner. Relating this term to your leadership would observe the input of these four concepts.
  • Energy
The Serbian American Inventor best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system, Nikola Tesla said, “If you want to find the secret of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” Well, quite a good piece of advice if all one has come to do on earth is to study atoms. However, raising the energy level of your operations is very much needed for you to unleash the next phase of influence opening up to you. Titles may give you a measure of authority, but not influence. Influence originates from you. Not disregarding the place of borrowed influence though {a situation where someone leverages on his superior’s established influence}. However, influence must be earned if you must enter and unleash the next phase of your leadership!Same also with respect!Being more tenacious with that plan or decision despite the rough edges on your path would earn you that respect you’ve been craving. Infuse into your leadership the required energy level necessary for team unity, individual value, and productivity!

  • Capacity
Absorbing and emitting energy allow for the making and detonation of a bomb. Someone said, “Energy is liberated matter, matter is energy waiting to happen.” True! To exhibit and dispense the appropriate quantum of energy required for that next phase of your leadership, building and ‘assuming’ capacity is paramount. Just as a promotion is not necessarily an incentive for higher performance but a reward in recognition of an already displayed performance. Intelligence has been defined as the tool we use to cultivate our lives and to wield control over our environment. So develop intelligence mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually!

  •  Speed
The polity is heated up almost everywhere if you could feel the vibrations like Tesla advised us. With crafted strategems, injected energy, built or increasing capacities/intelligences, and a functional set of tools, RUN swiftly! This is not a directionless race ‘cos destination has been clearly defined. How far and fast an organisation would go is a product of its leadership. More importantly, you set the pace for the momentum of everyone under your direct influence and in other instance, your extended influence too! While you give allowance for process to get you cooked in a casserole instead of a microwave as this fast-paced world of ours would have loved to, keep running! When exerting your influence, think of the speed of a Cessna CITATION Mustang (Model 510). But don’t forget to apply brakes where necessary. *LOL*

  • Elevation
Speed cancels weight and createsflight. In aviation, there’s a speed referred to as V1– the critical engine-failure recognition speed - which is the takeoff decision speed nominated by the pilot which satisfies all safety rules, and above which takeoff will continue even if an engine fails. It’s like making a V1commitment to put all of these processes into practice over and over again, then complexes becomes simplified; and one outcome is sure: Elevation!I’m sure this tallies with one of the themes for the year in some centres.

Get deliberate about your leadership. Prepare for the next phase of influence. Make room continually for thatShift to happen in your organisation, team, club or department. Get excited about every process and the seemingly challenges on the route. More importantly, stay exCITED! A warmly welcome to a 2015full of exCITATION!

Raise the edgealways!Take the LEAD!
